Abstract
Ochna integerrima is a medicine and ornamental plant in Southeastern Asia. It is the most celebrated flower in Vietnam and also a provincial tree and flower in Mukdahan of Thailand. It has been listed as a rare and endangered species in China. For the better protection and utilization of this important plant, direct shoot organogenesis were induced from the cotyledon explants of the seedling in O. integerrima, which cultured on MS basal media supplemented with 1.0 mg l-1 TDZ or BAP. The induced multiple-shoots can be subcultured for mass shoot propagation on the medium containing NAA 0.1 mg l-1 + BAP 1.0 mg l-1. Root formation and plantlet regeneration was achieved on the medium containing 0.5 mg l-1 NAA, 1.5 mg l-1 IBA and 0.1 % active charcoal. An efficient mass propagation and plant regeneration in Ochna integerrima was built.
